Rachel is the Co-Founder of the Jewish Parent Leadership Council (JPLC). Her advocacy work began over a decade ago at the Ethical Culture Fieldston School (ECFS), where she founded the Jewish Parent Affinity Group in response to challenges she and her daughters faced as Jewish members of the school community. Through this initiative, Rachel championed efforts to ensure that Jewish students felt seen, safe, and supported. Since then, she has advised and guided countless families navigating the complexities of independent schools, offering training, resources, and strategic counsel.
A passionate advocate for Jewish inclusion in education, Rachel is committed to promoting accurate and comprehensive representation of Jewish history and identity within school curricula and communities.
Rachel previously served on the Brandeis University Alumni Board and held numerous leadership roles at Ethical Culture Fieldston School, She also served on the Board of Trustees at Temple Israel, where she was President of the Religious School Parents Association.
Rachel holds a B.A. from Brandeis University. She lives on the Upper East Side with her husband, Richard, their three daughters, and their beloved King Charles Cavalier.
John is a native New Yorker and Co-Founder of the NYC Jewish Parent Leadership Council. A first-generation American with deep ties to Israel, John has been actively engaged in Zionist leadership and philanthropic endeavors throughout his adult life.He earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and International Business from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to that, he attended the Horace Mann School, an institution with which he remains closely connected as both a proud alumnus and parent.John currently resides in New York City with his wife, Lana, and their two sons.
